Can Zudena 100 Mg Be Used With Antihypertensive Drugs?
Zudena 100 mg contains udenafil, a phosphodiesterase type-5 (PDE-5) inhibitor used to treat erectile dysfunction. It can be used by patients who are taking antihypertensive (blood pressure–lowering) medications, but only with proper medical supervision.
Udenafil works by relaxing blood vessels and improving blood flow. Antihypertensive drugs—such as beta blockers, ACE inhibitors, calcium channel blockers, and diuretics—also lower blood pressure. When taken together, there is a potential additive effect, which may cause blood pressure to drop more than expected. This can lead to symptoms like dizziness, lightheadedness, headache, or fainting, especially when standing up suddenly.
Special caution is required when Zudena 100 mg is combined with alpha-blockers (used for high blood pressure or prostate enlargement), as this combination increases the risk of orthostatic hypotension. In such cases, doctors often recommend starting with a lower dose and spacing the medications apart.
Importantly, Zudena must not be used with nitrate medications, as this combination can cause a severe and dangerous fall in blood pressure.
Overall, Zudena 100 mg can be used with antihypertensive drugs if blood pressure is stable and the patient is monitored regularly by a healthcare provider.
