Which Blood Pressure Medications Interact With Fliban 100 Mg?
Fliban 100 mg may interact with several blood pressure medications because flibanserin can lower blood pressure and cause dizziness, fainting, or excessive sedation. Combining it with antihypertensive drugs may increase the risk of symptomatic hypotension, especially when standing up suddenly.
Common blood pressure medications that may interact include calcium channel blockers such as Diltiazem and Verapamil. These drugs can raise Fliban 100 mg levels by inhibiting the CYP3A4 enzyme responsible for its metabolism, increasing the likelihood of severe side effects. Certain beta blockers, including Metoprolol and Atenolol, may also enhance dizziness and fatigue when taken with flibanserin.
ACE inhibitors such as Lisinopril and angiotensin receptor blockers like Losartan can further contribute to low blood pressure effects. Alpha blockers, including Doxazosin and Tamsulosin, pose a particularly higher risk of fainting and orthostatic hypotension.
Patients using Fliban 100 mg should inform their healthcare provider about all medications they take, including herbal supplements and alcohol use, because alcohol significantly increases the risk of severe hypotension and loss of consciousness with flibanserin.
