Can Vilitra Help Maintain Longer Erections?
Vilitra (vardenafil) is a prescription medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). It can help many men achieve and maintain an erection that is sufficient for sexual activity, but it does not cause a constant or automatic erection. Instead, Vilitra works by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation, making it easier to get and keep an erection when aroused.
The medication typically begins working within 30 to 60 minutes, although the exact timing may vary from person to person. Its effects can last for several hours, giving a wider window of opportunity for sexual activity. However, the duration of the medication's action does not mean the erection itself will last for that entire time. Erections occur only in response to sexual stimulation and usually subside naturally afterward.
Vilitra may be less effective if underlying factors such as uncontrolled diabetes, cardiovascular disease, smoking, excessive alcohol use, stress, or certain medications are contributing to erectile dysfunction. Following the prescribed dosage, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and discussing any ongoing health conditions with a healthcare provider can help improve treatment outcomes.
It is important not to take more than the recommended dose in an attempt to prolong erections, as this increases the risk of side effects. Seek immediate medical attention if an erection lasts longer than four hours, as this may indicate priapism, a rare but serious condition that requires prompt treatment to prevent permanent damage.
