single bet calculator
So — been using this thing for something like a few months now and I keep coming back, so figured I'd say something since someone asked me a few days back. Am in the UK, mostly bet football and racing, a fiver here and there, just so you know where I'm coming from. The reason I started using it was honestly pretty stupid — I never could get my head round what an e/w return would be with 1/5 odds a place. I used to just eyeball it and then be surprised. Now type the odds in before I place anything, even a simple single bet. The single bet calculator is the one I use most — you put in your stake, the odds and it shows profit and total return straight away, fractions or decimals. It also handles the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, a yankee, which is where I always mess it up. Have a go yourself, it's over at how to work out a single bet and there's no login wall, which I appreciated. What genuinely shifted things for me is the more serious bits. The probability thing which shows you what margin's baked in, and a kelly criterion tool — I stick to fractional kelly since full stakes are terrifying. Dutching calculator is decent if I'm splitting a race. Not all sunshine though. Its design feels very functional, let's say — zero flash, it's clearly function over form. On mobile it's usable but the bigger tables make you pinch and zoom. Also there's no app, it's a website and that's it — slight shame but worth saying. Anyway. Free, not plastered in adverts, works. If anyone honestly adds it up in their head, have a look — saved me a load of arguments with the bookie.
