single bet calculator
OK — been on this thing for maybe six months now and I keep coming back, so thought I'd write something up since a lad on another thread asked me last week. Am in the UK, generally stick to footie and the horses, small stakes, just so you know where I'm coming from. What got me on it was honestly a bit daft — I never could work out what an e/w return actually was when the place terms changed. I'd just wing it and get a shock. Now stick my stake in before every slip, even a simple single bet. The single bet calculator tool is the bit I open most — you put in your stake, the odds and you get profit and total return instantly, either odds format. Same tool covers the multiples — trebles returns, a lucky 15, a yankee, and that's where most people I know mess it up. If you want a look, it's here matched betting odds calculator and it's free with no account nonsense. What really made a difference is the more serious tools. They've got an odds-to-probability calculator which shows you what margin's baked in, and a kelly criterion calculator — I use half kelly since full stakes are a quick route to a dead bankroll. Dutching calculator is handy too for when I'm splitting a race. It's not perfect mind. Its layout looks pretty plain — not much frills, which honestly I don't mind but some will. Phone-wise it works though the bigger tables make you pinch and zoom. Also there's no proper app, it's a website and that's it — slight shame just flagging it. Anyway. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, works. If you honestly does the maths on paper, give it a go — saves me plenty of arguments with the bookie.
