single bet calculator
Right — been using this thing for maybe six months now and it's basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I'd say something since a lad on another thread asked me a few days back. Am in the UK, mainly bet football and racing, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like. How I found it was actually pretty stupid — I never could figure out what an each way return actually was with 1/5 odds a place. Basically I'd eyeball it and get a shock. Now I punch the numbers in first, every time, even a straight one-selection punt. The single bet calculator tool is the part I'm on daily — you put in your stake, the odds and you get the return straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn't matter. Same tool covers the multiples — trebles returns, lucky 15s, a yankee, and that's where I'd always got it wrong. Have a go yourself, it lives at odds matching and there's no login wall, which I appreciated. What genuinely shifted things for me were the nerdier bits. The implied probability calculator that shows how much the bookie's taking, and a kelly calculator — I use half kelly since full stakes are a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit for when I'm covering two or three runners. It's not perfect mind. Its interface is very functional, let's say — not much polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. Phone-wise it's fine though the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. Also there's no app, just the site — fine by me but worth saying. Anyway. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. Anyone who honestly works out returns on a calculator app, give it a go — it's saved me plenty of dumb bets I'd have regretted.
