single bet calculator
OK — been using this thing for about four months now and I keep coming back, so thought I'd write something up since a mate asked me a few days back. I'm based in the UK, mostly do football and horses, nothing mad, just so you know where I'm coming from. The reason I started using it was honestly pretty stupid — I never could get my head round what an each way return actually came to when the place terms changed. I'd just wing it and then be surprised. Now I punch the numbers in before every slip, even a simple single bet. Their single bet calculator tool is the bit I open most — you drop in the price and your stake and it shows profit and total return straight away, fractions or decimals. There's also the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15s, a yankee, which is where I'd always got it wrong. If you want a look, it's over at no vig and it's free with no account nonsense. One thing that actually shifted things for me were the geekier bits. The probability converter and it makes obvious what margin's baked in, and a kelly staking calculator — I stick to fractional kelly because full kelly is terrifying. Dutching calculator is handy too when I'm splitting a race. It's not perfect mind. Its layout looks a bit basic — no flash, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it works though the acca grid make you pinch and zoom. There's no proper app, just the site — slight shame but you asked. Anyway. Doesn't cost anything, barely any ads, does what it says. If anyone still adds it up in their head, have a look — saved me a fair few arguments with the bookie.
