What Happens If Fildena Causes Diarrhea?

Fildena is a medication containing sildenafil, commonly used to treat erectile dysfunction. While it is generally well tolerated, some people may experience mild side effects, including diarrhea. This occurs because sildenafil can affect the smooth muscles and blood vessels in the digestive tract, leading to temporary changes in bowel movements.

If Fildena causes diarrhea, the symptoms are usually mild and resolve on their own within a day or two. During this time, it is important to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water or electrolyte-rich fluids, as diarrhea can lead to dehydration. Eating bland foods such as bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast may also help settle the stomach.

Avoid taking additional doses of Fildena until the diarrhea has improved, especially if the symptoms are severe. Alcohol and heavy, fatty meals may worsen digestive discomfort and should be limited while recovering.

If diarrhea becomes persistent, is accompanied by severe abdominal pain, fever, blood in the stool, or signs of dehydration such as dizziness or reduced urination, seek prompt medical attention. These symptoms may indicate another medical condition or a reaction requiring evaluation.

Before continuing Fildena, consult your healthcare provider if diarrhea occurs repeatedly after taking the medication. They may recommend adjusting the dose, switching to a different treatment, or investigating other possible causes. Never exceed the prescribed dosage, and always follow your healthcare provider's instructions for safe and effective use.
