Can Vilitra Cause Dehydration At Night?
Vilitra is a prescription medication that contains vardenafil, a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). Dehydration is not a common or expected side effect of Vilitra. However, some people may experience mild side effects, such as headache, flushing, nasal congestion, or dizziness, which can make them feel thirsty or contribute indirectly to fluid loss if combined with other factors.
Nighttime dehydration is more likely to occur because of inadequate fluid intake during the day, excessive alcohol consumption, hot weather, strenuous exercise, or illnesses that cause vomiting or diarrhea rather than from Vilitra itself. Alcohol, in particular, may increase the risk of dizziness and dehydration when taken with the medication.
To reduce the likelihood of feeling dehydrated, drink enough water throughout the day and avoid excessive alcohol before taking Vilitra. If you experience a dry mouth, sipping water regularly may help improve comfort. It is also a good idea to take the medication exactly as prescribed and avoid taking more than the recommended dose.
If you notice persistent dehydration symptoms, severe dizziness, confusion, rapid heartbeat, or reduced urination after using Vilitra, seek medical attention promptly. Consult your healthcare provider if these symptoms recur, as they may be related to another medical condition or medication rather than Vilitra alone.
