Can Vilitra affect hearing?
Vilitra (vardenafil) has been associated with rare cases of sudden hearing loss or decreased hearing. Although this side effect is uncommon, it is considered potentially serious. Possible symptoms include: Sudden decrease or loss of hearing in Vilitra or both ears Ringing in the ears (tinnitus) Dizziness or vertigo If you experience sudden hearing changes after taking Vilitra: Stop taking the medication. Seek immediate medical attention, as prompt evaluation may improve the chance of recovery if the hearing loss is related. More common side effects of vardenafil are: Headache Flushing Nasal congestion Indigestion Dizziness The exact cause of the rare hearing problems isn't fully understood, and it's not certain that vardenafil is always the direct cause. However, because similar reports have occurred with other medications in the same class (PDE5 inhibitors), the warning is included in prescribing information. If you're asking because you've noticed hearing changes after taking Vilitra, tell me: When did you take it? Did the hearing change happen in one ear or both? Are you also experiencing ringing in the ears or dizziness? That information can help determine how urgent the situation may be.
