Does Vidalista 5 Interact With Nitrates?

Vidalista 5 contains tadalafil, and tadalafil can interact dangerously with nitrate medicines. This interaction applies even at the 5 mg dose. FDA prescribing information states that tadalafil can increase the blood-pressure-lowering effects of nitrates, so using them together is contraindicated.

Nitrates are commonly prescribed to prevent or relieve chest pain associated with heart disease. Examples include nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, and isosorbide mononitrate. When tadalafil and nitrates are combined, both medicines can widen blood vessels and cause a significant drop in blood pressure. This may result in severe dizziness, fainting, or potentially life-threatening cardiovascular complications.

Because tadalafil remains in the body for an extended period, simply spacing the medicines by a few hours does not make the combination safe. The FDA labeling notes that nitrates should generally be avoided following Vidalista 5  use; if nitrate treatment becomes medically necessary in a life-threatening situation, it should only be considered under close medical supervision after an appropriate interval.

If you use nitrate medication, do not take Vidalista 5 unless your healthcare professional specifically confirms it is safe. Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all prescription medicines, over-the-counter products, and supplements you use before starting tadalafil.

If you develop chest pain after taking tadalafil, seek emergency medical attention and tell healthcare professionals when you last took tadalafil. Do not take nitrates on your own.
